OPTING OUT OF DISTRICT COVERAGE
A District employee who is eligible to participate in the District’s health care insurance plans may choose to participate in the District’s Opt-Out Program. The Opt-Out Program allows Eligible Employees who have other major group medical insurance coverage to elect to receive a $400 (Non-Represented employees and Bus Operators) or $500 (Union Coalition employees or members of the Painter unit) per month taxable cash payment in lieu of District-provided health benefits. By electing to participate, the District employee and any of his or her enrolled dependents opt out of all coverage under the District’s medical, dental, and vision plans.
Employees interested in opting out should download and complete the form (click HERE) and submit it to HR.
